FALLEN GIANTS

If you have mourned the demise of Hamid Gul enough and are in your nerves now, I would like you to have some words for Shuja Khanzadah. The two giants fallen within the time span of one week, but in totally different ways, the former died due to brain hemorrhage the latter died in the line of duty.

Hamid Gul God knows had blooded his hands with how many innocent lives. One shouldn’t forget that he was among the main architectures of Zia-ul-Haq’s draconian doctrine. That is hunting public of Pakistan todate.  Isn’t it confusing for Pseudo Patriots that those who flourished under Zia and Hamid Gul’s supervision have martyred Shujah Khanzadah, but to many of us Hamid Gul is hero; and Shujah Khanzadah is man like many other killed in the line of duty.

Some are praising Hamid Gul for his Pan Islamist Ideologies and his services for Muslim Umah. I would say that  are they out of their minds? There is nothing for any in service man (specially for ISI chief) like Muslim Umah , people like him will use anything they can for their National interests even if it is the slogan of “Muslim Umah” anything else. Its pure professionalism and nothing else, don’t let such morons like Hamid Gul fool you in the name of “Islam” and “Muslim Umah”.

Hameed Gul
Shujah Khanzadah
The greatness of an army man can’t be measured by ideology he follows but by his services and efforts for his country, Hamid Gul’s biggest failures were failing to save his president during his time as ISI chief, and his infamous “Mission Jalalabad”, where deceased tried to capture Jalalabad from Afghan army, but failed badly.

I have nothing against him personally. What I don’t like about him is that he remained attached with sort of people like Moulana Sami ul Haq and remained allied with them through Defa-e-Pakistan council, and I hate his remarks about Hakeemullah Mehsud calling him the true son of Pakistan.

“Supporting Mujahidin might be the need of the time then, but Hameed Gul till his last breath couldn’t withdraw his support for the Taliban”

On the other hand Shujah Khanzadah too has services for country, Khanzadah fought in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war. He was also present at the Siachen Glacier in 1983. In 1988, he was awarded theTamgha-e-Basalat for his services, but the nation will always be thankful to him for his services as home minister of Panjab. I recently came across one of his interview that was done before 2013 general election, as he was contesting for Provincial assembly of Punjab, he was pretty much clear about his views and was ready to serve the country as politician, he speak boldly about his relationship with Late Nawab Akbar Bugti and mistreatment of Balochistan by Federal Government. Only people like Shujah Khanzadah can fight on front lines of sectarianism, but unfortunately he paid the price with his life.
